This quiet laid back boy was originally a stray who was hanging around one of our client’s houses. With a lot of patience they convinced him to trust people and brought him indoors. He had the usual abscesses and sores you’d expect from an outdoor kitty fighting for space and food with racoons. He was also found to be positive for FIV. The family who took him in already had several cats of their own so they couldn’t keep him but they managed to find him a loving home where he settled in really nicely.
Fast Forward: His new family separated and no one could keep poor Motley so he ended out back at his original rescue families home. They have been trying to find Motley a forever home for several months with no luck so when they asked for our help we of course just had to say yes.
Motley is now 5 years old. He starts out a little quiet and shy but once he knows it’s safe he’s actually a bit of a love bug who loves chin scratches. Because he’s so quiet if he was in a home where he could have a slow introduction he could live with other cats in spite of his FIV positive status. If you’re interested in Motley or have any questions about how FIV can affect a cats health please feel free to ask.
